Publishing takes a draft live. A one-time announcement goes out now or at its scheduled time. A recurring one starts its schedule. Publishing also reserves the sends it will use and freezes the message so a scheduled post cannot change under you.

Preview the message

On the Compose tab, read the embed in the preview panel. It renders as Discord will draw it.

Click Publish

Click Publish in the header. A one-time announcement asks where and when. A recurring one confirms the schedule and its first send.

Confirm

Confirm in the modal. A one-time send goes out now or waits for its time. A recurring schedule starts.

What publishing does

  • The message posts, or is reserved for its scheduled time.
  • The content and schedule freeze. The announcement is read-only until you unpublish.
  • The sends it will use are set aside from your plan’s allowance.

Sends are reserved up front

Your plan includes a number of announcement messages, and each post uses one. Publishing reserves the whole commitment before anything goes out. The publish step shows the cost before you commit, for example “This uses 12 of your 150 remaining sends”. If a schedule needs more sends than you have left, the button reads Upgrade to publish. A send that has already gone out is spent for good. Unpublishing returns only the sends that have not fired yet. Messages are counted by delivery, so drafting costs nothing and only publishing reserves against your allowance. Free includes 4 and Studio includes 1,000.

What blocks a publish

  • A recurring announcement needs a saved schedule. Without one, Publish is disabled with a reason.
  • A recurring announcement on a plan without recurring announcements offers the upgrade.
  • A schedule that needs more sends than your plan has left reads Upgrade to publish.
