Creating an announcement makes a draft. You choose the type, give it a name, and set an opening schedule. Nothing posts until you publish, so a draft is a safe place to write and preview.

What you need first

Discord has to be connected. The final Save Draft button stays disabled until it is, and the create flow shows Connect Discord when no server is attached.

Create the draft

Open the create flow

Open Announcements in the sidebar and click New announcement.

Choose the type

Pick the One-Time or Recurring card, then click Continue. The type is fixed once the draft exists.

Name it

Give the announcement a name. This name is only for your team, so a reader never sees it. Use the dice to suggest one.

Set the opening schedule

A one-time announcement asks when it sends. A recurring one asks how often it repeats and for how many sends. You can change all of this later in the editor.

Save the draft

Click Save Draft. You land in the editor on the Compose tab, ready to write.

Choosing the type

The type cannot change after you create the draft. If you picked wrong, archive the draft and create a new one.
Recurring announcements are part of paid plans. On Free and Indie you can still draft one, but the schedule is set when you publish, and publishing a recurring announcement there offers the upgrade instead.

A new draft is not blank. It opens with a friendly starter message and two example link buttons already in place, so the preview is populated from the first moment. Rewrite the message in your own voice and swap the buttons for your own links.

The Calendar view on the announcements list has an empty cell for every day. Click one to quick-create a one-time draft planned for that day. It names the draft for you and drops you straight into the composer.
